Information from the ‘Papers Relative to Gundagai’ provided by Edgar Beckham, Commissioner of Crown Lands to the Legislative Council and included in the papers of the Votes & Proceedings of the Legislative Council 1852 held at the Mitchell Library, State Library of NSW.
On 25 June 1852 the town of Gundagai was devasted by flood. One hundred and ten inhabitants survived but 75 lost their lives.
